Poland Pavilion welcomes millionth visitor

Shanghai visitor Feng Yuanyuan received a surprise gift this morning when she stepped into the Poland Pavilion at 10:35am - a laptop and a bunch of flowers as she was the lucky millionth visitor to the pavilion.

Bogdan Marczewski, deputy commissioner general of Poland, welcomed her at the entrance of the pavilion.

Feng said she selected the pavilion with the hope to let her son learn more about the culture and history of Poland. She also read many positive comments about the exhibitions. The family waited for about 20 minutes to enter the pavilion.

The design of the Poland Pavilion, like a folded paper box, is inspired by its folk art: paper cut-outs. During daytime, the exhibition hall is filled with light filtering through the patterns and at night it shines with different colors.

The theme is "Poland is Smiling."
