Guangzhou Travel Guide – Helpful Info For Your China Vacations

Eat in Guangzhou:

(1). Yum cha is a term in Cantonese which literally means “drink tea”. It is an integral part of the culinary culture of Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macau. In any city with a sizeable population of Cantonese people, to yum cha is a tradition on weekend mornings, and whole families gather to chat and eat dim sum and drink Chinese tea.
Tips: The cost of the seat fee in the tea house is 2 rmb for one person. The snacks in the tea house cost 3 – 8 rmb (depends on the size of the snack – small dish, medium dish or large dish).

(2). There are all kinds of fruits here in Guangzhou: durian, litchi, pineapple, longan fruit, pitaya, etc. It is not easy to find them in other places of China. The good climate of Guangzhou is good for the growth of these special fruits.
Tips: In the farm produce fair, you can get very good deals of these fresh fruits if you are good at bargaining. The price here is lower than the supermarkets of Guangzhou.

(3). The litchi farm is the best place for the travellers to eat litchis in Guangzhou. The litchi farm is like the litchi buffet and you can eat as many litchis as you can. You can also see the famous Xiyuangualv litchi tree here. The Xiyuangualv litchi is very expensive ( cost 50000 rmb for one pure Xiyuangualv litchi !! ).
Tips: In June and July of every year, there will be litchi holidays in Zengchang, Guangzhou. If you visit here in this period of time, you can get the litchi buffet at only 15 – 20 rmb in the litchi farms. One thing you need to remember is that having too many litchis is not very good for your health. ( Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM: website for Lhasa travel and China vacations information )

There are many pubs and bars in this area and they are good places for you to hang out with friends.

Actually, this is because most costumers of this hotel is here to apply for the American visas ( it is close to the Consulate of U.S. ). The office hours of the Consulate of U.S. is Monday – Friday and this is why all the rooms (Monday to Thursday) are sold out one or two months earlier.
